Boffi|DePadova searched Denver extensively for the perfect place to open their new showroom. They recently settled into a plum location in Cherry Creek North and are looking forward to many years in their new home.

Although the Cherry Creek North location is new, Coloradans are not unfamiliar with Boffi|DePadova, which has had a presence on the local design scene for several years. Boffi’s history however goes back much further from its establishment in Denver. A storied company, Boffi was founded in 1934 in northern Italy by Piero Boffi, who left work at an Italian aircraft manufacturer because he wanted to open a craftsperson-led company. His sons soon joined him and over the past eighty years, with the help of several highly respected art directors along the way (including Luigi Massoni, Antonio Citterio, and Pierro Lissoni), Boffi became renowned for kitchen and bathroom design. In 2015, Boffi merged with high-end Italian furniture company De Padova to expand its offerings from bathrooms and kitchens to beds, storage systems, upholstered furniture, and accessories. The new Boffi|DePadova showroom in Cherry Creek North is one of only 6 in the U.S., which makes Denver a destination for fans of the acclaimed Italian design company. Modern In Denver (MID) recently spoke with managing director Ann Hofmeister—who has been with Boffi almost 15 years—about the move, a new partnership, and their grand opening celebration.

MID: Tell us about the new Boffi showroom.

Ann Hofmeister: After searching for the perfect spot to open a new Boffi showroom, we found it on the corner of 2nd and St. Paul streets in Cherry Creek North. We are thrilled with our new location and love being a part of the Cherry Creek vibe. The neighborhood foot traffic has added to our business, while we have maintained relationships with our existing clients. Our space consists of three beautiful kitchens and complimentary pieces from De Padova, our furniture brand, including lighting, rugs, and other accessories. We have a large walk-in closet with several bathroom displays, incorporating our line of doors by ADL—doors that not only complete a room but become a part of it. Our space is an aesthetic experience for our clients to envision their custom-tailored projects with the highest standards of quality and function.

MID: It’s been exciting to see the new De Padova collaboration with Paul Smith. Can you tell us more about it?

Hofmeister: The collaboration is exciting. The project is called Everyday Life and blends the heritage of De Padova’s Made in Italy design and the colorful approach of the British fashion designer Paul Smith. The collection consists of sofas, armchairs, low tables, and accessories that reveal Paul Smith’s signature palette of colors ranging from midnight blue to brick red to lime green. Sustainability was also a big aspect of the project, using eco-friendly and recycled materials. Working with a fashion designer merged the concept of design as a lifestyle with home and fashion. This experience combines the two worlds, evolving the contemporary vision of interior living.

MID: Now that the showroom is open, do you have any events planned?

Hofmeister: We don’t have anything planned right now and haven’t had an official opening event yet, but once our Italian colleagues can visit the new showroom, we will do something to celebrate the occasion. And we will be sure to let everyone know.
