WHAT: BMW i3 Launch Party
WHEN: Thursday, May 8, 6-9 p.m.
WHERE: Schomp BMW, 1190 Plum Valley Lane, Highlands Ranch
WHY: We love that BMW is introducing its first ALL-electric vehicle, and you can be one of the first to see it in person! You may have seen the ads in Modern in Denver magazine, and we included them for a reason—its carbon fiber body means no carbon footprint. We’re looking forward to this exclusive event, complete with sushi from Sushi Sasa, but you must RSVP.
WHAT: Design the Modern Board Competition
WHEN: Today! Wednesday, April 30, 6-9 p.m.
WHERE: Herman Miller Workplace Resource Showroom, 1899 Wynkoop St., Denver
WHY: Design the Modern Board participants will submit designs, and the winning graphic, which will appear on a snowboard, will be announced at this event featuring DJ Eric Lind, raffle prizes, refreshments by Left Hand Brewing Company and Marley Coffee, and food courtesy of Wahoo’s. The Design the Modern Board competition benefits SOS Outreach, a nonprofit organization that helps at-risk kids enjoy outdoor adventures.
WHAT: Timbuk2 Store Launch
WHEN: Saturday, May 3, 2-8 p.m.
WHERE: Timbuk2, 1411 Larimer Street, Denver
WHY: The San Francisco original celebrates the launch of its Denver retail store and bike share program. This grand opening celebration includes beer from Great Divide, snacks Biker Jim’s, deals on Uber rides to and from the event, a photobooth, limited-edition Made in San Francisco gifts with every purchase, and $5 Miir stainless steel pint glasses benefiting Bike Denver. WHAT: Zach Burn Foundation Fire & Ice
WHEN: Thursday, May 1, 6-8 p.m.
WHERE: Thurston Kitchen + Bath – Aspen Showroom, 202 AABC, Aspen
WHY: The Zach Burn Foundation mission is to prevent children from being burned, and to bring joy to the lives of those who have been. The goal is simple: to raise awareness, to educate and to provide fun and funding to provide smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in each and every family home in the Roaring Fork Valley who cannot afford to purchase those items for themselves.
WHAT: Modern Masters: 20th Century Icons from the Albright-Knox Art Gallery
WHEN: Now until June 8
WHERE: Denver Art Museum
WHY: This exhibition at the DAM will bring together about 70 iconic artworks by Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Georgia O’Keeffe, Salvador Dalí, Frida Kahlo, and Andy Warhol as well as one of Jackson Pollock’s finest drip paintings. In all, more than 40 influential artists are on view.
